This book was a surprise as it shows a group of people who are dying from various diseases, bringing them together to take the trips of their dreams through Jimmy Dire, the founder of the Club and the provider of the trips. In Dire’s Club by Kimberly Packard, the author has taken a subject that is an unusual and sensitive one and woven a delightful story around it, showing how human nature can be compassionate but there will always be people who only want to make money out of everything, even death. The author also showed that besides the physical death we will all experience, there is also the slow death of spirit and soul when one loses the will to survive in the world. The main characters are Charlotte Claybrooke, Jimmy Dire, the owner of the Dire’s Club, Celeste Bennett, Lourdes Pena, a telenovela star, Dylan O’Keefe, Levi Livingston, frontman of Fistful of Devils, Darla Steele, assistant to Jimmy Dire, Mr. Enzo Fiore, an investor in Dire Enterprises and Dire’s Club, and Mr. Mendez, the attorney for Mr. Fiore.

Dire’s Club by Kimberly Packard is a page-turner from cover to cover. The author draws you in from the start to the end of the book by having surprises around each corner and then hits you with the end, which is not expected, but a thank you and remembrance for those who have passed. The concept of giving dying people their final wish before they pass is an old one. Kimberley also showed that besides the physical death we will all experience, there is also the slow death of spirit and soul when one loses the will to survive. But the author has woven such an interesting story around the above characters and their experiences as they each journey to their last wish. I loved the twist because, like everything in life, there is always somebody who is trying to make money from people and situations. A wonderfully written book about a subject that is close to everyone's hearts in these times. Thank you for an amazing, enjoyable book. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it as a soul-searcher.
