A teenage psychic is helping the police bring a murderer who is attacking college girls to justice in the exciting young adult paranormal sleuth mystery, Dying Thoughts: Sixth Change by Joey Paul. Since Andy abducted Tara, everything in her life is different. Her famous rock-star father is out of retirement, and Tara is going to college. The most extraordinary thing is that Tara has many friends and actually enjoys going to school now. Her life is more balanced until her father forgets her seventeenth birthday and won't even be home. Worse than that, he forbids Tara from having a party for her friends while he is away. Stubbornly rebelling against her father, Tara invites her friends over anyway. In a tragic twist of fate, one of them is attacked on her way home and barely escapes with minor injuries. When more of her friends and schoolmates are victims and the violence escalates, Tara contacts Detective Chief Inspector Mike, insisting he allows her to be involved in the investigation. Unfortunately, the murderer believes Tara is a police informant and has chosen her as his next victim. Can Tara overcome her post-traumatic anxiety and discover the killer before he finds her? Or is she already too late, and history will repeat itself?

Dying Thoughts: Sixth Change by Joey Paul is a fun and exciting amateur sleuth novel with a paranormal nuance. With magnetic and likable characters and a plot filled with intrigue and suspense, the storyline captivates and engages the reader from the outset. I love this series, and I have enjoyed watching the characters mature and evolve. It is the sixth book in the series, and even though it does well as a standalone, I recommend reading all of the Dying Thoughts books. Skillfully written, the story has a flawless plot arc and an exciting and explosive finish. It is a sensational series that promises to delight and thrill young adult readers who enjoy amateur sleuth mysteries with paranormal aspects and a snarky heroine.
