Elizabeth and the Wooly Bear: Life with Elizabeth Series Book 1 by Nonny and Elizabeth is a humorous picture book for young children. A girl named Elizabeth is brave and isn’t afraid of anything until one day she decides to go on a picnic. As she’s strolling along, Elizabeth hears many different sounds that startle her. Everything is okay again once she realizes that they are just the sounds of the woodland animals. Elizabeth continues looking for the perfect picnic spot when suddenly she hears an even louder sound that scares her. After seeing what animal made the horrid sound, Elizabeth flees back home as fast as she can, into the safe arms of her parents. Elizabeth soon learns something that makes her day less scary. What did Elizabeth discover? Pick up a copy of this adventurous book to find out.
Nonny and Elizabeth will delight young readers with yet another wonderful book. I enjoyed the story and the plot twist at the end. I wasn’t expecting it and it made me giggle. Children are going to love reading Elizabeth and the Wooly Bear and will learn from the main character, as she shows them that they can overcome anything. I find this to be highly important for children to learn at a younger age to allow them to tackle the tricky situations they may face as they grow older. The story reads smoothly and is simple enough for children to follow along easily. Once again the illustrations are adorable and professional. The wooly bear was my favorite and I hope to read even more work from these two amazing authors. I can't wait to see what Elizabeth will get up to next.
