Empyrean Born: Origins Book One is a fantasy by M. K. Hall. The Creators, beings from the Empyrean race, created the terrestrial plane (Earth) as a refuge for their entire race as per the request of the Primordials. The Empyreans are to live on Earth once their plane of existence comes to an end. Empyrean enforcers are tasked with ensuring that fellow Empyreans do not abuse their power in the human world. Valkyrie and Gabriel (enforcer and protector, respectively) both believe that one of their kind is the cause behind the current turmoil in the Terrestrial plane. However, in their pursuit, they face powerful foes and make discoveries that will turn their entire lives upside down. Will they catch the rogue Empyrean? Or is Earth doomed?
It was quite a surprise for me when I found out that Empyrean Born: Origins Book One is the author’s debut book. M. K. Hall did such an incredible job, and her efforts here are greatly appreciated. The author put a lot of thought into her world as everything fits and makes sense. The worlds that have been created here are all unique and equally interesting. The plot was also really good. It kept me planted in my reading chair, and only a bathroom break could make me take my eyes off the pages before me. Characters were well-written, organic, and well thought out. The action scenes were beautifully written, and envisioning them unfold was a breeze. That’s always a great feat for an author to pull off. I’d like to recommend that lovers of the fantasy genre give Empyrean Born a shot, as I’m sure they won’t be disappointed.
