Between Heaven and Saturn by Idalita Wright Raso is the second book in the Eye of Saturn series. It is a gripping read for fans of the paranormal with exceptionally sculpted characters. Felipe de Hayos is a vampire cursed by Saturn's Priestess, his wife, to roam the Earth for five hundred and fifty years until the Eye of Saturn. When he comes to Wallachia, he intends to use his vampire powers to help Vlad Dracula III defeat the Turkish Ottoman Empire. However, he instead orchestrates a daring deception by killing Prince Dracula and using his powers to disguise himself as Dracula. Sultan Mehmed II will stop at nothing to overthrow him and install Radu on the throne. Felipe must use all his cunning to stay one step ahead with help from the monks who possess the Philosopher's Stone.
Idalita Wright Raso delivers a literary piece that will enthrall fans of the genre. The setting is immersive, and the author paints a vivid image of a world torn by conflict where powerful forces operate. Characterization is top-notch, and readers will be fascinated by how well the author renders historical characters like Dracula. Felipe is a larger-than-life character, a cursed vampire with impeccable powers. His struggle to keep Wallachia safe from the Ottoman Empire is the key conflict in the story. His inner battles are also cleverly developed. Maintaining his disguise is a challenge, but he must be patient and wait to break the curse so he can rescue his beloved Zaybeth from the Netherworld. From the battlefields of the Ottoman Empire to the uncharted New World, Felipe's epic journey reveals a darkness even more significant than his curse: slavery. Between Heaven and Saturn is highly recommended for fans of well-crafted paranormal stories and unforgettable characters.
