In Immensus, Vincent Piana's emotionally rich and futuristically imaginative novel is centered around fourteen-year-old Brian Salman, a gifted teen coping with the devastating loss of his mother. Living in Chicago with his grieving father, Adio, Brian’s dream of visiting ERE IMMENSUS - a groundbreaking space exploration company - becomes a turning point. What begins as a father-son pilgrimage to fulfill a promise evolves into a life-altering opportunity when they meet Killian Wells, the enigmatic billionaire behind the company. As Brian is drawn into a world of quantum computers, spaceflight simulations, and a mysterious girl named Electra, he begins an internal healing journey. The novel blends intimate emotional reflection with the awe of scientific discovery, delivering a story that’s as much about growing up and grieving as it is about pushing humanity’s boundaries.

Vincent Piana’s Immensus moved me deeply. As a reader and writer who resonates with themes of truth, loss, and human connection, I found Brian’s struggle to process grief and trust again profoundly relatable. The story doesn’t rely only on high-tech wonders to captivate readers; it’s in the quiet moments between father and son, the subtle mistrust between classes, and the courage to let oneself be known that the novel finds its heart. Piana’s writing is accessible and poignant, blending speculative fiction with emotional authenticity. The exploration of promises - those kept, broken, and unspoken - feels especially relevant in an age where appearances often overshadow intent. Immensus reminds us that real healing comes not from escaping to the stars, but from grounding ourselves in truth, no matter how uncomfortable. This is a novel I’ll be recommending widely, not just for its futuristic vision, but for its human one.

Immensus by Vincent Piana launches readers into a high-stakes, emotionally charged sci-fi odyssey where grief, ambition, and rebellion collide. Killian Wells, a brilliant innovator in space exploration, is drawn into a deeper mission after meeting Brian, a teenager mourning a personal loss, and Electra, a fiercely charismatic revolutionary. As their lives intertwine, the trio becomes a target of a shadowy global power structure that sees their alliance as a threat to its dominance. The novel races through betrayal, loyalty, and revelation as Killian, Brian, and Electra fight not just for survival, but for the possibility of a better future. Immensus is a bold vision of resistance and hope, set against a backdrop of futuristic intrigue and human emotion.

Author Vincent Piana has a keen eye for action and detail, and this combination delivers an immersive page-turning sci-fi saga that is packed with emotional depth and razor-sharp action stakes. These elements twist around one another with brilliant timing to ensure that readers get to know the characters and are invested in their journey, but are also never far away from the thrilling blend of conspiracy, technology, and heart-pounding twists. As the characters dare to imagine a new way forward, so Piana drives the fictional innovation with emotionally charged dialogue, authentic motives, and magnetic dynamics between them that pull readers in and don’t let go. While this is definitely a character-led story with their success at its heart, Piana’s world-building is also expansive and intimately linked to them, making the universe feel real and immediate and helping readers to step into it beside Killian and the gang. Overall, Immensus is a highly recommended read for fans of science fiction who are seeking something deep, original, and unputdownable.

Immensus by Vincent Piana is an imaginative novel that melds science fiction with family drama and coming-of-age themes. At its core is Brian, a brilliant yet grieving fourteen-year-old who has recently lost his mother. Living with his father, Adio, in a cramped Chicago apartment, Brian finds solace in his engineering projects and dreams of visiting ERE IMMENSUS, a revolutionary space research facility. The story begins grounded in grief and everyday struggle, portraying the strain between father and son. Adio, juggling multiple jobs to survive, honors his son's passion, taking him to ERE IMMENSUS in Texas. What begins as a tour quickly evolves into something far greater when they meet Killian Wells, the visionary billionaire behind the company, and his magnetic daughter, Electra. Immensus becomes a portal into a futuristic world of space exploration, high-tech AI, and innovative education. Through immersive scenes, readers are invited to marvel at the wonders of space and the possibilities of human potential.

Vincent Piana doesn’t shy away from emotional depth. Brian’s sessions with Dr. Denise Vernier, head of the center’s psychological team, are tender and insightful. They provide a window into his trauma and illustrate his slow journey toward healing. Meanwhile, Adio’s internal conflict, whether to trust a wealthy stranger with his son’s future, is handled with gravity and realism. As Brian finds purpose and companionship, the narrative weaves in questions about power, autonomy, and the ethics of innovation. Yet through it all, Immensus retains its heart: a boy’s search for hope, meaning, and connection after devastating loss. It is an inspiring, cinematic story that honors intelligence, emotional growth, and the transformative potential of trust and opportunity.
