For those unfamiliar with the Psychic Sleuths and Talking Dogs series, Jasmine and her special four-legged friend, Luffy, live in the small, yet cozy town of Blackwood Cove. She is a private investigator by trade, who has visions of future events which helps her solve mysteries. Her psychic abilities also include talking and listening to Luffy, a canine who speaks directly to her in a type of language only she can understand. It begins when a limousine is spotted on the main streets of Blackwood Cove and the town is all excited when world-famous fashion designer Athos Calabrisi steps out of the limo and enters the town’s local diner. Jasmine’s best friend and possible love interest, Brandon, urges her to enter the diner to see the famous clothes designer. When she enters, a vision comes to her, and this causes Jasmine to faint right in front of Athos. Jasmine’s vision reveals a possible crime to be solved...
Fashion Fatality (A Jaz & Luffy Cozy Mystery) by Max Parrott is quite suitable for any fan of the cozy mystery genre. It is Book #9 in the cozy mystery series and does not disappoint. Fashion Fatality has many suspects and all Jasmine has to do is use her psychic skills to unravel different clues to the case. She receives help from Brandon, FBI agent Marlon Gale and Black Cove’s Sheriff Lustbader. Is Athos connected to the mafia? Was a model murdered by a serial murderer known as Killer Suit? The writing is spot-on, and author Max Parrott does a good job of providing backstories for the suspects. The reader will enjoy trying to guess who did it and helping Jasmine and Luffy solve the mystery. For fans of the series and those who enjoy cozy sleuth mysteries!
