Fate's Twisted Circle: The Weave Volume 2 by C.A. McJack is about Sergeant Abbey and her road to rediscovering her life and herself. When she lost her husband, she had no idea she would be able to survive, but now she has a semblance of a life. However, she finds herself engaged to Gregory McGregor. She has not known him for too long, but despite that, she is finally feeling that she is settling into her life.
There is something familiar about Gregory, but Abbey cannot remember where she met him before. Just when she got complacent, she remembered her connection with Gregory. While Fate plays her hand, can Abbey do something to stop it or will she remain helpless against it all, like the last time when she lost her husband to the cruel war? Her past is not letting her go while her future is daunting. Can she make the right decision or will she lose to Fate once again?
Granted, I did not read the first volume, but reading the second volume did not hinder my reading pleasure in any way. The twists were pretty crazy and superb. Just when you thought that this would be the end of the novel, I found another twist that took the story forward smoothly and made me want to read more and more. Abbey is such a strong character. She is smart and she is not afraid. She is cautious and there is a difference. All in all, it is a novel that you will love.
