Feed Thy Gut: My Story of Discovering a Natural, Drug-free Approach to Treating Multiple Sclerosis, Acne, and Depression by David Podlipny is an interesting book where the author shares his experiences of getting treated for acne, multiple sclerosis, and depression using a natural and drug-free approach. Depression, acne, and multiple sclerosis are not fun and the author shares his experiences of recovery with the help of a proper diet, and how it did wonders for him and played a major role in his recovery, apart from other things too. The book is uplifting and the author's sense of humor makes things lighter when things seem tough.
The author speaks about the importance of a healthy diet, which plays a major role in battling depression and acne. It is helpful to all those who are going through the same problems and will encourage them to get a diet that is good for them. The author shares his diet, what he consumes and what he doesn't, and he also shares a few useful recipes that can be tried out. What I liked about the memoir is that one does not feel depressed because of the author's light-hearted tones and sense of humor. He manages to make everything simple without sounding too frivolous. With this book being a memoir, the author naturally speaks a lot about himself and his problems. However, the book connects well with readers who are undergoing the same problems and the author's experiences are palpable and relatable to many.
