Finding Ami: Polish Dragon P. I. is a suspenseful novella written by Steve Zimcosky for his popular Polish Dragon P.I. series. Private investigator Tom Sipowicz, also known as the Polish Dragon, is recuperating from a gunshot wound when his partner Suzie Mandrake is presented with a very unusual case. The wealthy and influential Lucius Shad wants them to find his daughter Ami who has been supposedly missing for twenty years. As the duo investigates the case, they find themselves being followed by agents of the government and foreign powers. Ami Shad is suspected of trying to sell secrets about biological weapons. As general manager of Shad Industries in Taos, New Mexico, a company doing clandestine business with the government, the possibility is real. She is also known to have had a difficult relationship with her father since her mother died.

Steve Zimcosky’s Finding Ami is a fast-paced thriller with unexpected plot twists, wicked bad guys, and page-turning tension. Tom Sipowicz and Susie Mandrake are very likable protagonists and although this is the first book from the Polish Dragon series that I have read, I feel like I know them very well. The succinct length makes it an easy read without sacrificing too much of the story’s plots and twists. This book is ideal for young adult readers who like to read thrillers but don’t have the patience for lengthy novels. Finding Ami will take you on a ride from start to finish, pull you in, build tension with suspense, and keep you guessing until the very end. And it is a roller coaster ride. Highly recommended!

Finding Ami is yet another absorbing installment of the Polish Dragon P.I. series by Steve Zimcosky. Still recovering from a bullet wound he suffered during his last case, Private Investigator Tom Sipowicz has a particularly bewildering task on his hands. Lucius Shad, the owner of the biotech company Shad Industries, hires him and his partner Suzie Mandrake to find his forty-two-year-old daughter Ami, who has been missing for the past twenty years. Upon further investigation, Tom and Suzie realize that the stakes are a lot higher as Ami might have been involved in an international arms smuggling racket. The two partners unwittingly embroil themselves in a situation where they are followed by government agents. With Homeland Security on their tail, can Tom and Suzie find Ami and take the lid off the mystery once and for all?

Crisp and concise, Steve Zimcosky's narrative flies by without a single bump along the way. Finding Ami is a short yet entertaining sleuth novella that readers who love detective stories will relish. This is the third book I've read from this series, and I'm glad the character of Suzie Mandrake is getting more and more page time. I feel she provides the perfect foil for Tom's way of doing everything by the book. The surprising turns of events never allow your attention to waver as the plot throws curveballs right until the end. If you're a fan of short and fast-paced sleuth stories, this is the perfect book for you.

This is my 5th book by this wonderful author… which just so happens to coincide with this being a 5 star rated Readers’ Choice award winner. An award well earned and deserved. And what a thrill ride this was!! Our hero, the Polish Dragon is home recovering from a gun shot wound. A very powerful industrial tycoon comes to the office and illicits Sipowicz’s partner, Susan Mandrake, to find his daughter, Ami who has been missing for 20 years. What he doesn’t tell her is that there are government agents, foreign and domestic, also looking for her. And they are looking very hard for her and are ruthless. An estranged relationship between father and daughter also plays a huge role. The joy in this book is finding out why, and to what extent they will got to locate her. Loads of interesting parties and plot twists lead to a thrilling conclusion
