Finley is the fascinating tale of a man who turns into a shark. Written by Divitto Kelly, the book follows thirty-eight-year-old Mark Finley, owner of the Finley Aquarium in Oregon. To prevent his family business from running into the ground, Mark takes a trip to the islands of Hawaii with his family, seeking the mythical orange shark his grandfather had been searching for before he went missing fifty years ago. After unexpectedly finding the magnificent creature, Mark is shocked to be bitten by it. Even more troublesome, he realizes that he is slowly becoming a shark himself with a penchant for seafood. Now, back home in Oregon, Mark must find a way to stop himself from turning into a shark full-time and reverse an ancient family curse that seems to run through the Finley bloodline.

A wild adventure ride for preteens and young adults alike, Finley is a breath of fresh air that breezes past without a single hitch from start to finish. Author DiVitto Kelly's fast-paced narrative contains plenty of bites as he takes you on an unpredictable journey following a man struggling to keep himself from becoming the main attraction at his own aquarium. The characters are colorful and full of life, each having a distinct personality that makes a mark on the reader. Mark is a likable protagonist you can't help but root for. His evolution from a man who runs his family business out of a sense of duty to someone who actually enjoys his job feels organic and neatly done. Overall, I had a wonderful time reading Finley.
