Finn Finds Confidence: The Truth About Freckles and Spots by Heather Anderson is a sweet children’s picture book about a puppy named Finn. Katya Wallace’s eye-catching and adorable illustrations pair perfectly with the story, bringing it to life in a delightful way. Finn loves his family and begins listing some of the things he loves about each of his littermates. But when he tries to think of what makes him Finn, he struggles. He knows that his brothers and sisters each have special gifts and unique personalities, but the only thing he notices about himself is the frustratingly oddly shaped marking on his face. Suddenly, he wonders if they would still want to be friends with him with his silly-looking marking. His mother considers his concerns and sparks a brilliant idea to help him out. Will it work? You’ll have to read to find out.
Finn Finds Confidence by Heather Anderson is a heartfelt story of growing up and making friends. This story encourages young readers and helps build confidence by sharing some of the things that make each person special. Finn knows that each of his littermates is fun and different, and he loves them for it. The story shares some of the traits and skills we often look for and enjoy in our friends and teaches that it’s okay to be different. Finn is an adorable character, and his struggle is something many children can relate to. Anderson has written a wonderful children's story, and the compassionate and understanding nature of the characters is sure to inspire and delight young readers.
