Molly Ivers has landed an internship in Paris after she graduated from college. She finds herself torn between whether she should pursue a relationship with Evan Castle, the rock star bad boy she lost her virginity to, or focus on her trip to Paris and forego relationships altogether. One evening a mysterious woman gives her a card for Jean Luc, a life coach. For some unknown reason, he has chosen Molly to receive his services free of charge. The advice she receives opens her eyes to possibilities she had never thought of. Molly has a makeover, and Evan proves he has never forgotten their only encounter. Then along comes Nicholas Sullivan, a former professor that Molly had a secret crush on, and he asks her for a date. Evan becomes jealous and tells her to pick him or to forget about him. Does she choose Nicholas, the grounded stable professor that has his priorities straight? Should she pick Evan with his passion and fly by the night, easy-going life? Ultimately, does Molly choose to pursue a relationship with either Evan or Nicholas? Read this 5-star book to find out.
Roxanne D. Howard writes a modern-day romance in Flip The Beat. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Flip The Beat as it had a clear view of Molly's thoughts, constantly debating if she should fall into a relationship. The life coach caused her to learn more about herself and to be more confident in the choices she makes. Personally, I was rooting for her to choose Evan since I felt that the professor wasn't interested in anything more than her looks. The ending threw me for a loop, and I liked how Roxanne D. Howard threw in details that kept me engaged in the story. I have no doubt that adult readers will enjoy this witty romance story.
