Every relationship goes through rocky patches. Sophie believed that she and Max just needed to get through this one together but for Max, this was just one of the many fights that led him to fall out of love with her. Phoebe tried to help her best friend Sophie through her rough times but it was difficult when she was part of the problem. The world had not been kind to Sophie and she did not believe it could get worse until she received the news of her father’s health condition. When he passed, Sophie was devastated. Her father was gone, her relationship was shambolic, and she felt as if she was losing her mind. Meeting the ghostly figure of a little girl certainly did not help her already crumbling sanity. What truths would Sophie uncover after she met the ghost and would the lies that were exposed be worth the pain? Find out in Follow Me by Lisa Suzanne Nugent.
Lisa Suzanne Nugent’s Follow Me is a detailed and intense story that had me captivated from the outset. It took me on an emotional roller coaster ride that I will not forget. The characters are distinctive, with each having flaws that added depth to the storyline. There were secrets that I never saw coming and this added flavor and a fresh twist to the tale. This psychological thriller has an enthralling and descriptive narrative that made it easy to visualize the events. Sophie is a troubled character with a mysterious past, and reading about her struggles made me empathize with her plight. I admired the fact that despite everything that happened to her, she kept going. Still, there were times when she did reckless things that put her life in danger and I was scared for her. Nugent has put together a heart-rending and enthralling tale. This book kept me on my toes from the start and I can’t wait to read more from this author. Excellent work.
