Fooling Around With Cinderella by Stacy Juba is a fairy tale romance. Jaine Anderson wants a job so she visits Storybook Valley amusement park, a park she has been going to since she was a child. She pitches a new marketing role at the general manager, even though there isn’t a job opening and, in return for creating the job, Dylan Callahan talks her into playing Cinderella at the park for the rest of the season. As well as the work involved in coming up with new ideas for the park, Jaine slips into the role of Cinderella, tries to plan her sister’s wedding, and fights to keep her job and her place in Dylan’s heart when she comes up against someone who doesn’t want her around. Can Jaine reign amidst the chaos of her life? Can she pull off the biggest role she will ever play? Enter Storybook Valley to find out.

Fooling Around With Cinderella by Stacy Juba is a great, fun book. Ms Juba has created a storyline with a solid plot and characters that are realistic. The situations Jaine finds herself in are situations that any one of us could be in – perhaps with the exception of playing Cinderella, but then who knows! I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It has a bit of everything – mystery, romance and humour – and is written in a way that draws a reader in, envelopes them in the story, and makes them believe that they are actually there, walking alongside the characters as they play their part. The characters grew with the storyline and became one with it, developing perfectly throughout the book. I’m looking forward to reading book 2 now, to see what Jaine can get herself into next time!
