Foretold: An Epic Spiritual Journey by Susan Smith Davis is a story of faith, a story of one woman’s search for meaning through her spiritual connection. Her spiritual journey took her through different faith expressions, including Roman Catholic, Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, Congregational, and Christian Science. From the very beginning of her spiritual odyssey, the author already had many questions to deal with, for she couldn’t understand the concept of purgatory in the Catholic belief system. Now, readers will follow her in a story that involves dreams and how she sets out to understand what these dreams could mean to her. What is most striking is the similarity she draws between her personal life — characterized by trials and moments of joy and fulfilment — and the Book of the Revelation.
This is a book that is as inspiring as it is entertaining, a story that reflects a person’s faith and how it can change everything. The author teaches readers that they can read their own story through God’s words and His redeeming love. The humanity of the narrator comes out vividly, through her struggles, the challenges that life throws at her, and how her faith becomes a stronghold. Susan Smith Davis writes with unusual honesty, and at times readers feel as though they are touching her soul, and that is what makes her message so compelling. However, it must be said that this is a book for readers who are interested in deepening their faith through frank discussions with other readers of faith. Foretold: An Epic Spiritual Journey could be the tool for you to discover God’s presence in your life and allow His word to speak to you in a deep and personal way.
