Emotionally and psychologically rich, Forever and One Day by Jacqueline Simon Gunn is a gripping romance that explores the themes of betrayal, love, and redemption. It has been seventeen years since Olivia Watson discovered the betrayal that tore at her heart — her high school sweetheart and fiancé having sex with her best friend. That was seventeen years ago and she had made the decision not to confront that part of her life, completely disconnecting from anything and anyone that could remind her of Justin and her heartbreak. She now receives an invitation to her twenty-year high school reunion and she musters the courage to go. But when she meets Justin at the gathering, both of them feel that irresistible connection. Somewhere buried in their hearts is a longing for each other, but can they still find space for love when both of them are currently involved with other partners?

Jacqueline Simon Gunn is a great storyteller who leads the reader straight into the heart of the conflict and gets them interested in the protagonist. The story begins with Olivia contemplating whether she should accept the invitation or not, and the background story comes out vividly through the masterly use of dialogues. The writing is filled with deep emotional insights. The conflict is strong enough to keep the reader interested in the story, but it is the way the plot is developed that will surprise readers. I wanted to see how this story ended and the author did not disappoint. The reader will enjoy compelling lines, some soothing and though-provoking such as, “Between the empty spaces is a place called forever.” Forever and One Day is a captivating story, a romance with very unique angles that will delight readers. I couldn’t stop reading it.

Forever and One Day by Jacqueline Simon Gunn is a great romance with deeper layers, well-plotted with strong characters. Meet Olivia Watson, a woman betrayed by the man she’s loved from high school as she makes the choice to confront a past she has fled from for seventeen years. When she accepts the invitation to her twenty-year high school reunion, she can’t imagine what to expect when she faces the man who betrayed her love with her best friend. But when Olivia meets Justin again at the reunion, it feels like the bond was never broken. The attraction they have for each other is still there. But there is a problem: Justin is married to her best friend, Petal, and Olivia is involved with another man. Can they follow this path again? It’s for the reader to find out.

The author does a wonderful job in creating characters that, though flawed, are a reflection of the sentiments and emotions of most readers. The novel explores powerful themes, including love and the freedom to pursue one’s happiness, taking the reader into the inner workings of the hearts of the characters, and exploring emotions that are intimate to human nature. I loved the dilemma in which the protagonist finds herself, the psychological implications of the story, and its emotional depth. The writing is filled with intelligent passages, interesting and lively dialogues, and vivid descriptions. The setting comes out well throughout the narrative. Forever and One Day showcases the author’s gift for plot and character, a story that will keep the reader emotionally involved from start to finish.

Forever and One Day by Jacqueline Simon Gunn follows Olivia Watson, a woman who lost the love of her life when she found out that her fiancé, Justin, had betrayed her. When she discovered him sleeping with her best friend, Petal, Justin broke her heart. Devastated, Olivia leaves her past behind and tries to rebuild her life after closing the door on Justin and everyone else who could remind her of him and his betrayal. Years later, she finds a handsome and honest man in Adam and soon they become engaged. However, the past was not done with Olivia just yet.

When Olivia receives an invitation to her high school reunion, she has no idea that she will come face to face with Justin and feel all the things she thought she would never feel for him ever again. She finds out that Justin is married to Petal, but this is not enough to diminish the sparks that fly between them. This could be the perfect chance for her to get her closure and move on with her life with Adam, or it could be her second chance with Justin. What will she do? Can she truly let go of the past? Or will she risk it all?

Forever and One Day by Jacqueline Simon Gunn is a story of love, forgiveness and rediscovering yourself. Emotional, intense and beautifully woven, this is a deeply layered novel that goes beyond the romance genre. The complex characters feel so real and believable that I can just close my eyes and hear Olivia, Adam, Justin and Petal speak to me. The pace is fast, the plot line is expressive and very interesting. I enjoyed the way the author told the story and gave it time to grow and bloom on the page. Truly engaging and entertaining, and simply too good to put down!
