Frantic by Brent Bradley is a psychological technothriller of astoundingly high quality for a debut novel. The story takes us to Texas and unfolds over 72 hours of a deadly race against time and the world’s most powerful and wealthy techno-titans. Formerly friends, two genius AI developers fell out over the moral aspects of AI development. Now, Texas faces an upcoming vote for a controversial AI bill backed by those in high places in the USA and beyond. A marriage therapist, a private detective, and an ex-AI developer find themselves on the opposite end of the AI bill’s scale as they join forces to prevent its passing by the Senate. But why are they trying to sabotage the AI bill? And will they succeed?

I enjoyed every moment of reading Brent Bradley’s Frantic. It has everything I would expect in a top-quality technothriller – a fast-moving plot, jaw-dropping twists, and a thought-provoking underlying theme to keep me turning the pages and reflecting on the rights and wrongs. Reminiscent of Dan Brown’s Digital Fortress, this novel is a step up to the modern state of technology and even more suspenseful. What an awesome film it would make! As an AI fan, I liked how the author portrayed the current state, flaws, and risks of AI. As a lawyer, I enjoyed the dilemmas that the AI bill presented. But most of all, I was impressed by the breathtaking, high-tech climax. I highly recommend this awesome novel to techno-thriller fans. Lawyers, politicians, and AI enthusiasts will enjoy this novel too.

With the latest explosive excitement of the dawning of AI, few of us stop to think about the real traumas it may cause in our lives. Brent Bradley includes quotes at the beginning of Frantic, warning of the dangers. In this story of unscrupulous politicians being bribed to accept a revolutionary new AI system into law, there is a small team working hard to get the bill thrown out. They only have seventy-two hours to accomplish the impossible. An ex-detective, now a private investigator, a psychologist, and a computer wizard are up against two of the most brilliant billionaires who have developed computer programs designed to change lives forever. But can these tech wizards control the power they have created? Can the public be warned against the inherent dangers? Add to the mix hired assassins who will kill anyone trying to prevent the new legislation, and the vast amounts of money in bribes, and you have a situation that is both captivating and compulsive.

Frantic by Brent Bradley is right up-to-the-minute as we move into the age of AI. I thought I understood the ramifications, such as altered visuals, speech replacement, and fake news. However, apart from enjoying a very exciting read, I was not really aware of all the dangers that it could entail. Many stories describe how computers and robots go rogue, but the real focus of this book is on how, in Texas, they are about to pass legislation to bring AI online, and those opposing it have only three days to prevent this. This book will appeal to anyone who is curious about the near future, the political collusion and corruption behind the scenes, and the changes AI will bring. Brent Bradley has wrapped all this up in a novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat from the first page to the last.

Frantic by Brent Bradley is a timely psychological thriller that might just make you scared of the future. An AI bill is about to be fast-tracked, and it spells disaster. When Dr Brian Heiser attends a therapy session with a prison inmate, he is warned of the disaster and finds himself caught up in a race for survival. He and his best friend, Fred, team up with an AI engineer to stop the bill, but they only have 72 hours to do it. Their investigations are hampered at every turn by tech billionaires who want to get their hands on the AI contract, and the race to the truth is more dangerous than they thought. Will the trio stop the bill before it's too late, or is the world doomed?

Frantic by Brent Bradley is one of the scariest thrillers you'll read, simply because it is something that could very well happen. AI is here to stay, but the level of control it is given and how it is used are things that we should be aware of. This is a fast-paced story that doesn’t let up from the start to the jaw-dropping ending. It's a fascinating plot with plenty of twists and no end of surprises along the way, with plenty of suspense that builds throughout each chapter. The characters are well-developed into real people, and they all have their own skills and personalities that add to the story. The plot is quite frightening because AI is expanding its reach very quickly; the more people use it without understanding it, the more trouble we can expect in the future! Fascinating, action-packed, and highly imaginative – this is one thriller that I recommend to everyone.
