Freddy’s Magic Garden by Angelina Dayan, Helen Nicholson, and Andrea Shepheard is a charming collection of incredible cat stories. These endearing tales introduce you to an assortment of twenty-five cats, each with a different personality and a journey. You’ll instantly fall in love with these cats as you follow a mother cat searching for a place for her family, a kitten that nearly dies twice, and a new home that goes wrong. At the center of these stories is Freddy whose life takes an unexpected turn when he meets Mum who makes room for him in her home. This is how he meets a variety of other cats, including several Maine Coons, who all become family. These delightful stories introduce more than Freddy as you’ll get to know his sister Caramel, Uddy, Tahiti, and many more.

Each story is touching, wholesome, and full of love with adorable cats that capture your heart from the first page. The garden has a special place as a refuge and home because of the love and joy found there. The catalyst to these stories is the arrival of a precious kitten who sparks a chain of events that completely changes Mum’s life and shows the enchantment that cats can bring into our lives. There’s a genuine innocence to the various cats that are met throughout and you easily feel for their various plights and adventures. This is a great read for cat lovers but anyone can fall in love with these stories and feel the emotions that the authors provide. The style uses the narrators to directly tell the stories which appeal to any age and keep you wanting to know what happens next. As you get to know the cats, you care about their well-being and are heavily invested in each story. Freddy’s Magic Garden: Incredible Cat Stories by Angelina Dayan, Helen Nicholson, and Andrea Shepheard features the notable tales of cats that have been part of the authors' lives in one way or another. It is primarily narrated in Freddy's voice, one of the many wonderful cats adopted by Angelina Dayan. In this fascinating blend of imagination and real-life events, she goes on to share the experiences of the other cats and occasionally those of other animals, including the ones at home and the regular visitors. The book also contains a couple of stories about cats by guest authors Helen Nicholson and Andrea Shepheard.

Freddy’s Magic Garden by Angelina Dayan, Helen Nicholson, and Andrea Shepheard is a delightful and heartwarming read. Through narrating the stories in the voice of the cats, the authors paint a vivid picture of their joys and plight, and I believe it can encourage readers to be kind and compassionate toward animals. Although the stories are not arranged chronologically, they are quite easy to follow. The constant switches in perspective do not disturb the flow either; rather, they make the narration more effective. I feel that the authors' profound love for animals and their unwavering optimism will touch the hearts of many readers out there. Angelina's telepathic connection with her pets is breathtaking, and the way Helen provided care for a stranded cat and Andrea gave her all to find her missing pet is truly inspirational. The book is recommended to all animal lovers, irrespective of their age.

Freddy loves his garden – it’s magical and enchanted. But, then again, everything around Freddy is magical and enchanted, even Freddy. Once feral, this kitty was adopted by a cat-loving woman, Angelina Dayan, who thrived on the incredible entertainment all her cats provided, particularly Freddy. Co-authors Helen Nicholson, Andrea Shepheard, and Angelina share marvelously fantastical cat stories in Freddy’s Magic Garden, mostly told in the first-person narrative, from Freddy’s point of view. Not all the stories are about Freddy; some are stories about his adopted cat family. These are stories of resilience, survival, and pure simple pleasures as they find their place in the world, loved by each other and the woman who cares for them.

Angelina Dayan, Helen Nicholson, and Andrea Shepheard’s book, Freddy’s Magic Garden: Incredible Cat Stories (Cat Stories from Freddy’s Garden), is a compilation of 25 cat stories. The stories are heart-warming, compassionate, and sometimes humorous as the author (Freddy, of course) leads readers through an enchanted garden of life from a cat’s perspective. The stories begin with Freddy as a kitten, his mother barely older than a kitten. Life on the streets is rough, but Freddy is a survivor. His rescuer brings him into a warm, cat-loving home and the stories turn from survival to joy as Freddy learns to live life to its fullest with fun and adventure at every turn. The stories are told in simple language and certainly sound as if Freddy is the narrator. This collection will be a hit for cat lovers everywhere.
