From Best Kept Secret To Success In Life, Love & Business by Jo Dibblee is a motivational, part-memoir guide to finding one’s true self and path to personal success and happiness. Author Jo Dibblee starts off with a brief introduction and the meaning of the word “frock” is used in this context. Frocking or shedding our false self to truly find ourselves and who we are is the basis of Jo’s coaching and success techniques. Having come from a dysfunctional family and a difficult childhood that included poverty, neglect, and sexual abuse, Jo’s story is inspiring. The book is broken down into several chapters and each one contains a mix of Jo’s background and life story, along with lessons learned along the way and how to apply them in everyday life. This is a short but inspiring read.

From Best Kept Secret To Success In Life, Love & Business by Jo Dibblee is a motivational read and is part-autobiographical. Indeed, this personal touch is what makes the book authentic and real. Her tips and life lessons learnt are simple and straightforward. The writing is direct and engaging and I truly felt as if the author was talking directly to me. I especially liked the section about the common “frocks,” including dealing with feelings of unworthiness that lead to living a life of conformity at the expense of personal happiness. All in all, this is an inspiring read and one I would recommend.

If you ever get a chance to meet Jo Dibblee or attend one of her Frockolicious events, grab it. But before you go, snap up a copy of her latest book, From Best Kept Secret to Success in Life, Love & Business, and you will get a very good idea of just who Jo Dibblee is, what she’s like, why she is enjoying the success she has today, and how she can help you do likewise. After you read the short, conversational, and utterly motivating From Best Kept Secret to Success in Life, Love & Business, the odds are good you will want to read her first book which has already won three Readers Favorite medals: Frock Off. She touches on this memoir of hers throughout this new book, which might never have been written if it hadn’t been for the harrowing story she shared in Frock Off.

When I had the pleasure of meeting the bright and bubbly Jo Dibblee at the Readers Favorite 2014 Awards, the title of her book caught me off guard: Frock Off? Well, okay. But as she explains in From Best Kept Secret to Success in Life, Love & Business, frocking off is about removing the frocks behind which so many of us hide i.e. Someday, Conformity, Expectation and Unworthiness. It is these “frocks” that keep us from realizing our full potential, of becoming who we are meant to be, and of achieving happiness by doing what we really want to do. If we take off these frocks, as Jo Dibblee did when she wrote Frock Off, there are no limits to what we can do and what we can achieve.

Jo Dibblee asserts that the only difference between those who do and those who don’t achieve their desired success is action. She’s right, of course, and this new book is a call to action. She urges readers to move away from the past, no matter how bad it was, and reminds us that we are not our story: instead, we need to stand on our story and use it to help others. She doesn’t say that frocking off is easy: in fact, she maintains self-discovery is a terrifying journey. But it is also the most rewarding one. By the time you’ve finished reading From Best Kept Secret to Success in Life, Love & Business, you’ll believe what Jo is telling you and find yourself champing at the bit to do as she has done. After all, who doesn’t want happiness and success in life, love and business (or whatever our chosen occupation)?

My only wish with this book is that Jo Dibblee had also included all her direct links at the end of her book and not just at the front. But that’s where you need to look to locate her website and the events, communities and organizations she tells us about, and invites us to join. By the end of the book, you’ll be shouting, cheering and believing you can do it just like Jo has. Will she get a big “Hell, yeah!” for From Best Kept Secret to Success in Life, Love & Business? Hell, yeah!

From Best Kept Secret To Success In Life, Love & Business is an inspirational self-help book written by Jo Dibblee. Trauma visited Dibblee early on in her life, and it took up long-term residence. Her parents were ill-equipped to deal with their young family, and Dibblee and her siblings often had to do without the basic necessities of life. Dibblee doubly felt this as the eldest child, especially after her father made it her responsibility to care for her younger siblings in their mother's stead. When a social worker tried to help her by providing her with a stable family experience for a weekend, the young teenager was assaulted by her foster dad. He used threats of violence to ensure that she would never speak of the abuse she suffered at his hands. He would kill everyone she cared about and finish with her. And he claimed that no one would ever believe her anyway. Dibblee did report the assault to the authorities, and no one believed her until years later, when Susan, another foster child was abused and murdered by the same man. Dibblee's life became one of hiding and subterfuge. She never knew when that man would come to exact his vengeance upon her, and she couldn't forgive herself for surviving while Susan didn't. She was prey to debilitating panic attacks and, as she was coming to terms with the heartbreak of her impending divorce, Dibblee realized that she had had enough. She would no longer cover herself or hide. She had had enough of the life she'd been feeling was her due, and she knew she wanted more. She wanted to Frock off.

Jo Dibblee's inspirational self-help book, From Best Kept Secret To Success In Life, Love & Business, offers the reader an attractive, life-changing and infinitely doable challenge. Dibblee is a motivational speaker, author and facilitator who runs workshops and conferences designed to help women redefine their lives and their concepts of self, and stand upon their life stories rather than feel bound up in them. She shows how to say no and succeed over feelings of unworthiness, obligation and guilt. Dibblee is frank and courageous in her revelations about her own story, and her example is a powerful one. From Best Kept Secret to Success is well-written and the author's voice is supportive and enthusiastic. I was especially impressed with the online and in-person support system she offers those who want to work more directly with her program. Dibblee doesn't make any guarantees that all will be rosy once you've begun working through her concepts, but she does shine a light in a most positive direction. From Best Kept Secret To Success In Life, Love & Business is highly recommended.

From Best Kept Secret to Success in Life, Love & Business is a self-help book written by Jo Dibblee in which she exhorts her readers to completely accept themselves, warts and all. Author of Frock Off and Living Undisguised, Dibblee shares her own experience of hiding her real self for thirty-five years until she finally opens up. Consisting of seven chapters, this book also gives us a glimpse of her life as she grows up in a dysfunctional family. Ending up in a foster home, she has to live with an abusive stepfather who eventually ends up killing another girl. Fearing for her life, she moves around, hiding from him and from the world itself until 2012, when she decides to face her demons. There is no looking back after this as Jo Dibblee starts to finally live her legacy.

From Best Kept Secret to Success in Life, Love & Business is a book that will teach us to unlock our true selves. Only then can we discover our true purpose in life and and find success, not only in terms of material things. Jo Dibblee certainly knows what she is talking about because she went through life in fear and shame until she discovered that accepting her real self would make the biggest difference in her life. All of us have skeletons in our closets, so to speak. Some people may go through more traumatic experiences than others, but we all emerge scarred for life. The difference is that some emerge from these experiences stronger while others are defeated. This is a book that could change your life and I highly recommend it!
