Fuzzy Buzzy is a young bee who one day finds a new field of flowers no one knows about. She found it exciting to have a secret and she decided not to tell the other bees about its location; she would have a treasure of her own. For a bee, pollinating flowers is hard and tiring work, and she soon found herself overloaded, tired, and in need of the other bees' help. Will she share her secret treasure before something bad happens to the flowers?

Fuzzy Buzzy's Treasure by Misty Baker is a delightful children's educational pictorial book, introducing young readers to the habits and lifestyle of bees as well as the concept of pollination. Readers may also find a lesson within the text concerning selfishness and sharing. The author has created a fun and exciting way for a young reading audience to learn about bees and their involvement in the pollination of flowers as well as honey making. The main character, Fuzzy Buzzy, has found a new field of flowers. Knowing it is special, she doesn't want to share this discovery with her siblings or the rest of the bee hive, but soon discovers the work load is too much, and thus ends her selfish ways and starts sharing her work load.

This is a great way for children to be introduced to what it means to be selfish, and the importance of sharing - not just a way of sharing they are use to such as with a toy, but sharing responsibilities for the good of others and yourself. The book has beautifully drawn illustrations that are exciting and vibrant, thus keeping a young reader's attention for the entirety of the book with ease. The author provides a section at the end of the book of facts about bees, as well ways a young reader can help a bumblebee. This fact and suggestion section is a useful resource for teachers to provide in a lesson plan and is also an interactive activity.
