Gabe by M. Tasia is the first book in the Boys of Brighton series. Gabe Mason is a fifth-generation firefighter in the town of Brighton. While he finds his job fulfilling, internally there is an unfulfilled matter of the heart. Gabe’s desire for love, for feeling needed and wanted, is met when he connects with Johnny Jeffrey. The story of their connection is how Tasia begins the book. Gabe and Johnny’s connection and developing romance is not without obstacles. The remainder of the book delves into how those obstacles are met and overcome. Except, there is one obstacle that may prove to be more formidable than the bond their love forms. Will Gabe and Johnny survive? Well, you will have to read the book to find out. Be prepared for gasps, tears, and cheering as Gabe and Johnny fight for what they need and want.
First, let me tell you what Gabe by M. Tasia is not. It is not erotica. There are two very brief sexual encounters which are just a few paragraphs long, and both are done in good taste. If that is a concern, let it go. M. Tasia has developed strong, respectable, and loveable characters who are leaders in their community and families. So, what is Gabe? It is an endearing love story between two men with inner needs who find they are a perfect fit. It is a story of courage. It is a story of overcoming life’s obstacles. It is a story of community acceptance and support. It is even a story of the importance of family values and respect. It is a story one must read! Exceptionally well written and a positive portrayal of the LGBTQ community. I cannot wait to read the remaining books in the series.
