Girls Can by Deb Preston, with illustrations by James Henry Dufresne, is a creative book that presents and celebrates girl power. Deb shouts from the rooftop, along with the outstanding and engaging illustrations that let it be known that girls can do anything! Girls are not the stereotypes that they've been labeled from the day that they're born because we are so much more. Girls have excelled by being inventors, astronauts, Prime Ministers, NASCAR drivers, and even Attorney Generals. Nothing can stop a girl once she sets her mind to it. Ask Serena Williams, Naomi Osaka, Michelle Obama, and Queen Elizabeth how they were able to succeed in their field against all odds. This book echoes the warrior cry that girls can do it by just believing in themselves.

Girls Can by Deb Preston spoke to my soul about convictions that began in childhood, with my father backing many of these choices. In turn, I have always been the referee in my daughter's corner saying ok that happened so what's the next move, let's keep going. This book is ideal for preschoolers by helping them to have something handy that encourages them, but also a guide for school-age kids when they begin to lose hope. Once positive reinforcement is instilled in your child's mind, it stimulates motivation, encourages cognitive function, and instills strength and power. There are so many other fields where women can succeed, from firefighters, farmers and ranchers, aerospace engineers, construction project managers, aircraft engineers and pilots, to the President of the United States. For such an awesome book, here's an iconic catchphrase from one of my favorite comedians, Martin Lawrence, that I would like to use to salute Deb with: "You go, Girl." This book is highly recommended. Get yours today.
