Golden Nuggets From a Life Well Lived is an intelligent, witty, and hard-hitting collection of tips that cover different aspects of life, including family, relationships, work, and fun. When it comes to life experiences that are worth learning from, Melody C. Thomas has sure had her share—from serving for 31 years in the military and receiving more than 40 ribbons and medals to being treated for cancer and teaching for 28 years. One notable lesson in the book is to follow one's dream as early as possible; it involves the story of a retiree who had to sell his motorhome and stop traveling after discovering his body couldn't take the needed physical exertion. Golden Nuggets From a Life Well Lived abounds in several more profound lessons that include such themes as humor, nonverbal communication, gifts, gratitude, money, conflict, delayed gratification, change, reading, and volunteerism.
Thanks to Golden Nuggets From a Life Well Lived, I plan to start spending at least one day a week with my spouse without any distractions. That said, I gained so much from the book that almost every page is filled with bookmarks on several points I found useful—including things I wish I knew, some information that I am already employing to realize personal transformations, and tips that might be useful in the future. The book is free from excessive, distracting words and is designed to plant fruitful, regenerative ideas in the reader's mind with its concise format. With a keen, observant eye and a perspective viewpoint, Melody teaches people to enjoy this journey called life and make the best of it.
