Leadership, growth, and inspiration can occur in different ways from listening to others tell their stories and learning from others to when someone pays it forward. Grow Your Leadership (A Divas That Care Book) by Candace Gish provides hope, motivation, and lessons learned from the perspective of over fifteen women business owners. They've taken the lemons that they've been given in their lives and have turned them into the lemonade of success, value, and purpose. As you read each of these women telling their story, you will learn how family dysfunction, abuse, and health issues were the catalysts to not only help them start their businesses but to turn it into a passion for helping others. If you're looking for ways to grow as a leader, add this book to your library.
I enjoyed reading each story and as I read them it brought to my mind a movie that I recently watched called Pay It Forward with Haley Joel Osmond, Kevin Spacey, and Helen Hunt. An overview of the story is that it was the teacher's job to make the 7th graders see the world in a different view but no one could have imagined that this class assignment would make Trevor come up with the Pay It Forward concept. Through the lives of these women, you will see that you too can learn from your past, overcome it and create a positive outcome for your future and for others. Get a copy or a few copies and 'pay it forward.'
