Author Biography

Elliott Stone is a veteran Special Forces Operator and National Guardsman. As a Green Beret Communications Sergeant, he deployed across the globe in support of U.S. missions—solving complex tactical challenges and adapting to a rapidly evolving battlefield. With a front-row seat to the rise of cyber warfare, robotics, electronic attacks, and space-related technology, Elliott recognized a critical shift: the next war wouldn’t look like the last. He pivoted from traditional warfighting to help lead the military’s transformation into a true multi-domain force—where the National Guard plays a vital role. Today, Elliott serves as a consultant in organizational robotics, systems integration, and security modernization, helping defense and commercial organizations adapt emerging technologies to real-world mission sets. His work bridges the gap between legacy infrastructure and next-generation capabilities, ensuring resilient, future-ready operations. After more than a decade of military service, he set out to tell the untold stories of Guard Special Forces—elite citizen-soldiers operating at the highest levels of conflict. Before donning the uniform, Elliott lived a very different life as a television producer and touring recording artist. But he says without hesitation: “Being Guard SF is the coolest job on earth.” In his debut military thriller, Guard U.S., Elliott blends real-world experience with fiction to explore the future of warfare—and the enduring spirit of those who fight for something greater than themselves. It’s a pulse-pounding story of tech, tactics, and the quiet warriors living next door. Citizen Soldiers.

When an enormous explosion rocks the server room of Edenville hydroelectric dam, the largest source of electricity for the Northwestern U.S., taking it offline, local authorities suspect foul play. The Governor of Washington State authorizes Jonathan "Jon" Roy, a National Guard Special Forces officer, and his elite team to investigate the incident and identify the perpetrator. Soon, the team finds themselves caught up in a dangerous cat-and-mouse chase that spans international borders as they hunt down the man behind the attack, a notorious warlord. Can they take him down? But that is not all. Jon’s son Derek, a tech prodigy at Hilmont Technical Institute, where Jon is the president, was arrested shortly after the dam incident for alleged cybercrimes. It turns out his case and the dam attack are linked. Could Derek be working with the devil? Find out in Guard U.S. (Next-Gen Special Forces Book 1) by Elliott Stone.

Lovers of fast-paced military and high-octane action novels with a touch of techno-thriller will find Guard U.S. by Elliott Stone an enthralling read. Right from the start, Stone reeled me in with believable Unmanned Aircraft Systems, high-tech espionage, tactical operations jargon, and cinematic depictions that lend authenticity, modernity, and urgency to the intriguing high-stakes plot. It felt like I was watching a Hollywood military action thriller. Through the upbeat and tense dialogue, riddled with banter and clipped conversations, Stone unravels the multifaceted profiles of the cast. Jon's arc mirrors the choices and consequences that people in the armed forces face in their line of work and back home. It helped me understand and appreciate the often-overlooked sacrifices that they make for their countries. Jon's compassionate nature revealed his intentions to fix his strained marriage, yet as duty called, I kept asking myself if that would ever be possible.
