There’s a reason adult coloring books are a growing trend right now. As mentioned in Laura Iancu’s Introduction to Happy Adult Coloring Book, adults can use coloring books to reduce stress, calm nerves, and get away from technology for a little while. In addition, adult coloring books stimulate creativity and take you right back to childhood. For this reason, Happy Adult Coloring Book is an A+ addition to the world of adult coloring books. Included in Laura Iancu’s Happy are 30 mandalas to help the child inside of you emerge and your creativity fly. There are hours of fun awaiting, hours of relaxation and meditation, and hours of reverting to an age when you didn’t worry about time, deadlines, and keeping things in perfect order.
There are 30 mandalas included in Happy Adult Coloring Book (mandalas are geometric figures that represent the universe in Hindu and Buddhist symbolism), and each mandala is different and has a unique theme. Some of the shapes include plants, flowers, interesting geometric forms, fruits, butterflies, seashells, hearts, fire-like patterns, umbrellas, musical instruments, and a fall-like scene of pumpkins, acorns, and squirrels. My favorite was the teddy bear theme with moons and stars, and as I received the e-book version of Happy, I printed out the page so I could enjoy it (I recommend printing the pages as they tend to stay flat on the table). Overall, I’m enraptured with Happy Adult Coloring Book and hope to buy more coloring books from Laura Iancu in the future.
