Have you ever felt unsure of how life is going to turn out for you? Even though everything is exactly as it should be you get that unsettling feeling that something is not going right. That's the setting for just what is plaguing the main character of this story. Karly Matthews is a woman who is struggling to make a living running a spice shop with her sister Sophie and uses her GIFT as a psychic medium to help people overcome any supernatural problems they may encounter.
Prior to the beginning of the story a mother by the name of Monica came into Karly's shop asking for a reading and Karly used her talent informing her that her husband has been cheating on her with a much younger assistant. The reading unfortunately ruined her reputation because Monica's husband was a real-estate mogul by the name of Jonathan Reiss who had the power to release a barrage of negative reviews and a smear campaign about her saying that she told lies breaking up a marriage and a family.
Karly is trying to get over the hurt of having placed her trust in her previous boyfriend Chad; who was cheating on her, so she is skeptical of trusting someone to start up a new relationship. The story takes place in a wonderful place called New Hope, Pennsylvania (of which I am somewhat familiar with myself) where Karly meets and falls in love with, a rich tycoon by the name of Thane Harper who is trying to start up a beautiful bed and breakfast called the Molverton Inn, but it is haunted and scaring off would be employees before even opening the place up. Thane acquires the assistance of Karly through a co-worker named Tom to help him rid himself of this problem before it destroys his opportunity to pursue his ambitions of living a successful lifestyle outside the protection of his father's empire. He too is having relationship troubles but in the way of never having found a woman who he really loves because he is having trouble letting a woman get close to him since the death of his brother.
This is a story of how the two of them overcome inner struggles but are still able to hold onto love in a world that seems so DEAD against this happening. As a matter of fact, it goes far beyond that and shows how hot and steamy a true love physical attraction can get. Read this story and feel the connection you will have with Karly because we all struggle every day to keep our love alive when there are so many obstacles preventing us from believing in ourselves when in actuality that is the only thing standing in our way.

I am already an avid fan of the paranormal. The best thing about this love/ghost story was that it told a supernatural story in a naturally believable way.
Karley was a Medium, a determined young women coming to terms with romantic rejection and the crisis of impending financial doom due to the backlash of an honest prediction. Thayne was overconfident due to a privileged life but he was determined in his ambitions. He was facing disaster due to an angry spirit that he was not prepared to deal with & he needed help. His ex-partner & ex-girlfriend could have been used to create a bit more intrigue, but their roles served to provide added anxiety.
The love story unfolded with an electric attraction between Mr. Overconfident & Miss Insecure. They were drawn together 1st by coincidence than by circumstance. Thayne’s need to rid the hotel of the ghost allowed Karley’s determination to emerge making her strong but it was her self-confidence that made her bewitchingly attractive.
Thayne’s desire to succeed was rooted in the basic need to prove himself not in the public eye but to his estranged father. I wished for more about his brother.
Emily, the ghost, was an interesting volatile character. Her tale was slowly uncovered then skillfully woven through the story. She was hostile, frightening & dangerous.
I think the story was well written. Although I do not wish to disclose more detail, I will say that it flowed fluently from page to page, making it hard to put down.
As their problems ebbed away, each achieved what they originally sought & found it was not enough.
The realization of falling in love was the “Happy Ending” that crowned this story.

Haunted is the second book I read of Shari Nichol's. Her first one, "The Witch Hunter" was great, and "Haunted" continues her style of enticing the reader into a sensual mystery entwined with some paranormal activity. This author draws you into her characters and makes you want to keep reading to find out what's next. I enjoy how she makes the chemistry hot between her characters, and how her stories are very interesting. Haunted is a great read and I highly recommend it to people who are interested in romance or the paranormal. I really enjoyed this book, and I can't wait for her next book!

This was a very good book. The story lines are diverse yet blend together so well. I pretty much read this book over a pretty short period of time. I loved the chemistry that Karly and Thayne both had, it was simmering throughout the book. It was a great read and will recommend to my reading buddies. Thanks, Shari!!

This is a steamy romance, dark & yet addictive book that once you start reading you don't want to put down. I so loved this story, Karly, the medium has been crushed by her previous romantic relationship. When she least expects for someone to care for and love comes Thayne, the innkeeper, just the gorgeous man to do so. This story is filled with lots of action suspense and heartwarming love as they have a big adventure to their future. The depth of research that went in this book felt so real that kept me up late and gave me hours of reading pleasure

Another magnificent book by an awesome writer. A must-read for anyone who likes great endings and beautiful storylines. The characters could walk from the book. Do enjoy this book. It is worth the read.

This is a great story and I enjoyed reading about Karly and her sister and the ghosts they come across.
This book left me wanting to read more about Karly and her life as a medium.
This is not my first paranormal book but one of my favorites for sure.

Another fabulous book by Author Shari Nichols. Once you pick it up you are instantly addicted. You have ghosts, sex, mysteries, suspense, and great character development. You will enjoy being “Haunted.”
