Jaxson Malone was mending his broken heart after the humiliating rejection of his marriage proposal. He was the featured bachelor on the popular reality program, Date Me, Then Marry Me, when Dixie Lane turned down his proposal in front of millions of viewers. Being an actor and model, he no longer wished to be in the spotlight. Rather, he decided to visit his grandparents who lived in Paris, France. Lauren Blake, the creator and CEO of Haute Couture Clothing, had moved from Savannah, Georgia, to Paris six years earlier. Although she was beautiful and intelligent, and an accomplished entrepreneur, her love life was disappointing. She had experienced too many hurts from too many men. Twice a day, she and her best friend, Arabella Royale, still in Savannah, connected through FaceTime. Sharing their dating woes seemed to always be the main focus. In Haute Couture: Razzle My Dazzle Book 2, author Joslyn Westbrook has written an entertaining Parisian treat.
The style of writing in this fictional work is fast-paced and smoothly presented. The first meeting between Jaxson and Lauren is enchanting; the second meeting is both serendipitous and amusing. How the author developed every character in the story is delightfully clever. From Jaxson’s French-loving grandparents, to the doorman at Lauren’s apartment building, the reader feels a connection to each one. Author Joslyn Westbrook’s second book in the series, Haute Couture: Razzle My Dazzle, is an engaging and charming read. While the book can stand alone, every reader will want to read the other books in the series!
