Hop on for an adventure with a superhero and learn a few things about hearing protection with HearO Saves the Day by Adele Sandberg and Sherilyn M. Adler. Dave and his friends are playing in the park where the Annual Park Concert is being held. One by one, Dave and his friends tell each other what kind of superpowers they would like to have. One child wants to pass through walls while another wants to breathe underwater. Soon, HearO arrives in front of them and reveals he has all those superpowers, including the one with super hearing. He hears cries for help coming out of a little girl's ear. HearO makes himself small and travels through her ear canal. He discovers the child's tiny hair cells are calling for help because the marching band is making too much noise.
HearO Saves the Day is a fun-filled adventure tale highlighting a relevant issue regarding noise pollution and hearing loss. People, especially children, need to learn how harmful loud noises are to the delicate hair cells inside our ear canal. In this book, authors Adele Sandberg and Sherilyn M. Adler cleverly demonstrate the effects of loud noises on tiny hair cells, showing how to protect our ears and hearing from them. Young readers will love the playful narration of the story and learn a few important lessons about protecting their hearing. HearO is a funny and lively superhero who is easy to like. In addition, the colorful and vibrant illustrations by Caryn Marie will ensure kids have their eyes glued to the pages. Overall, a fantastic picture book for young readers.
