Heavy Metal Moon is a work of fiction in the science fiction, music, action, and adventure subgenres, and forms the first novel of The Last Intergalactic Punk Series. It is suitable for the general adult and teen reading audiences, containing some mild sci-fi violence and language. In this uniquely themed, slick, and action-packed novel penned by author Ron Lamberson, we follow the exploits of Garton Prog, rare for both his humanity and rock and roll prowess. Fronting an intergalactic band and battling it out for rock supremacy is plenty to contend with already, but then a dangerous and catastrophic series of events leads Garton and his band into an even bigger fight.
Author Ron Lamberson has crafted a fantastic, action-packed sci-fi novel filled with the rock and roll spirit that is sure to bring a smile to the face of every reader who embarks on this wild adventure. There’s something wonderfully tongue-in-cheek about the narrative style that keeps a gleam in your eye as the author brings you in on the joke, entering Garton’s space-age world but feeling suitably nostalgic at the same time. I loved all the references and throwbacks, and the new inventions in the culture of the different alien species, yet their character archetypes were all so recognizable and easy to relate to. The descriptive work was also second to none, bringing to life some lavish atmospheres, strange new worlds, and hilarious heroes and villains in full technicolor, and full stereo. Overall, I would certainly recommend Heavy Metal Moon for fans of science fiction that cranks it up to eleven on every page.
