Her Christmas Tree by Tracey Steinbach is the story of Matthias, a 250-year-old vampire, and Miranda, a young human woman. Miranda lives in Matthias' home as his personal assistant and thinks that the arrangement was only made to make Matthias' work life easier. Matthias isn't telling her everything, he's conveniently leaving out the part where she's his mate. Matthias tries to ignore that Miranda is his mate, but fate seems to have other ideas in mind as every time they conquer one problem, another pops up and just strengthens the bond. Confused, Miranda isn't sure what to think, while Matthias realizes fighting fate isn't going to do him any good, so he might as well start winning over the woman that fate says is his mate.
Her Christmas Tree by Tracey Steinbach is very well written with amazing imagery that places you right there with Matthias and Miranda. Both characters are very realistic and that's what helps make Her Christmas Tree such an awesome book, despite the fact that it's short. I feel like both characters could step off the pages and have dinner with me and tell me about themselves. Her Christmas Tree is an awesome example that a book doesn't have to be 300 pages long to be enjoyable and to tell the entire story. I feel that Her Christmas Tree was a small teaser with the hints at Matthias' past. I hope that one day Tracey Steinbach shares more of his past and, most importantly, his future with Miranda! I will definitely be watching for more books by Tracey Steinbach, even if they don't include Matthias.
