Hijacking of the American Presidency: Terrorists in the White House by Assad R Wright is a political thriller with awesome characters and surprising literary elements, a story that reads like an action movie, and it won’t be surprising if fans of the movie Olympus Has Fallen will be enthralled by it. The subtitle succinctly describes what happens in this gripping thriller. Yes, what happens when terrorists get into the White House?
The White House is under serious threat from a powerful religious group that is tired of Washington politics, and wants to put the man of their own choice in the White House, someone who can conveniently unleash a nuclear strike on nations that would be considered enemies of the U.S. America is about to be changed and the constitution rewritten by a fanatical group that sees itself invested with a divine mandate to liberate America, and they will kill everyone who stands in the way. Can the Department of Homeland Security Anti-Terrorism Task Force be a match for this determined, manipulative, and well-organized religious group?
Assad R Wright is a gifted writer and he comes across to me as master of complex plot lines, sophisticated characters, and exciting settings. I was hooked by the excellent prose. It is neat and flawless, and the author has the rare gift of creating powerful images in the minds of readers. The phenomenal conflict will have readers turning the pages, eager to find out what happens to the characters and to the White House. If you love political intrigue, manipulation, and stories with well-developed and sophisticated elements of style, then this is one you must read. Hijacking of the American Presidency: Terrorists in the White House is one of those books I will put on my shelf alongside books by Lee Child and David Baldacci.
