In Howl-O-Ween Hijinks: The Everyday Adventures of Papa and Paws Book 9 by Papa Paws, we are introduced to a group of very adorable dogs who are having a hard time settling on a costume that they want to wear for Halloween. Their human parents had a lot of costumes for them to choose from but none of them seemed quite right for the doggies. They each had a look envisioned in their little minds and the current themes that were readily available just didn’t feel right. Going as fruit wasn’t appealing to the canines and neither was going as a clowder of cats. Each dog had an idea when it came to what they wanted to dress up as so their human parents listened to them. The result was a bee, a superhero, a unicorn, a hotdog, and the sweetest spider. Now that the pups had costumes they loved, they were ready to celebrate Halloween.
I thought Howl-O-Ween Hijinks: The Everyday Adventures of Papa and Paws Book 9 was the cutest book. As a person who loves Halloween and is a dog mom, this is such a perfect read. I like how each dog had their own personality as to what they wanted to be for Halloween. The illustrations are also beautifully done and fit perfectly with the storyline. They are colorful and eye-catching which helps grab the attention of the young reader and keep it. Howl-O-Ween Hijinks by Papa Paws is a perfect spooky season book for kids and my four-year-old really enjoyed it. Like every Papa and Paws book I have read, it’s definitely worth the read.
