Hulight Visions: Time Star is intended for young independent readers, penned by author Eleanor Matera in the science fiction and fantasy, adventure, and action subgenres. Our story follows Group 6 on Homestar Echo 7 as they navigate the approaching Time Star's cosmic effects and a suspected villain's emergence. Amidst trusted loyalties and mounting suspicions, Group 6 undergoes rigorous Hulight training, facing a cat-and-mouse game with the potential to either strengthen or devastate their community. As they confront inner fears and external threats from both the villain and the imminent danger of the Time Star, Group 6 is put to the ultimate test of wits, skills, and courage.

Author Eleanor Matera has lovingly crafted a fantastic adventure novel with intricate storytelling that kept me on the edge of my seat, and will certainly do the same for its young reading audience. The dynamics between the characters were richly developed, with each member of Group 6 facing their own inner demons and external challenges, and the emotional arc of each character is well-worded to be accessible and empathetic for the target age range. The plot is fast-paced to keep things interesting at every moment, filled with twists and turns, drawing readers deeper into the maze of suspense and danger that surrounds the satellite community. As the story unfolded, I found myself immersed in the high-stakes game of cat-and-mouse, eagerly anticipating each new revelation and twist, and very deeply invested in how each character overcomes their personal fears. Overall, Hulight Visions: Time Star is a thrilling and captivating read that kept me engrossed until the very end, and I would highly recommend it for young readers everywhere seeking imaginative adventure with a heart of gold.

It was just three weeks to Group 6’s start of yet another academic year on Homestar Echo 7, a satellite community, when an explosion hit the Hall of Records on space satellite Life Quadrant 4. Group 6, a class of kids taking Hulight training sessions, finds it weird that Dextra Kalamer, the Hall’s Senior Director had been present during two explosions, including the one at the Hall. Her suspected involvement in a kidnapping and robbery on Homestar Echo 7 makes her true nature even more questionable. The news of Dextra visiting Homestar Echo 7 puts the community on edge. Or perhaps it’s the fact that the community has learned that the Time Star, a rogue star, was headed their way. With Dextra’s arrival, Group 6 starts experiencing strange things. They find themselves in a web of disloyalty and suspicion. They must confront their deepest fears to beat the looming danger from the Time Star and a villain lurking closer than they imagine. Lovers of young adult science fiction novels will find Eleanor Matera’s Hulight Visions: Time Star an enthralling read. Matera whisked me away from reality and dropped me right in the middle of a world of endless imagination with thrills, adventure, a splash of drama, and so much more. The vivid depictions had me feeling like I was next to the characters, closely watching their every move. There is a subtle tone to the storyline that kept me hooked with suspense. I never knew where the story was headed. The cast’s traits and emotions are well brought out, giving the story a solid grip on reality. This made it easy to connect and empathize with them. Group 6 may be a gifted and intelligent bunch, but maybe not a match for Dextra. While her history clearly raises red flags, it seems impossible to get past her charm, leaving many with their guards down. This is the second installment in the Hulight series so I strongly recommend reading the first book to have a better understanding of this one.

Hulight Visions: Time Star by Eleanor Matera explores the experiences of eight teenagers trained to enter imaginative realms while their bodies are physically stationary in pods. Time Star shows a group of young people whose relationships and personalities have matured since Book 1, and now they are ready to embark on and conquer more challenges that come their way. Their biggest challenge now is a visit by Dextra Kalamer of Life Quadrant 4, whom they suspect to be responsible for the near-death experiences of Arianna and Michael from Book 1. In anticipation of her arrival, the group of friends is uncertain whether to fear Kalamer and how to engage with her. In Kalamer's questionable encounters with the friends and their trainers, she reveals her intentions, opening doors to new and dangerous territory.

Hulight Visions: Time Star by Eleanor Matera is an adventurous, inventive, and delightful book. Matera shares positive portrayals of friendship, community, collaboration, and innovation by the teenage friends and their trainers. There is the powerful theme of exploring the unexplored and discovering new realms, the idea that nothing is impossible if you can think it. The love story between Alec and his significant other was refreshing and gave a good break from the tension between Dextra and the main characters. The confidence each of the friends now had in their abilities and the team added exciting momentum to the plot. I enjoyed the friends' humorous banter and mischievous activities and how effortlessly they connected. The characters were well developed. Overall, the book was conceived and written well, with meticulous attention to detail.

In Hulight Visions: Time Star, a children's fantasy and science fiction story by Eleanor Matera, a group of friends was named Group 6 during their training on the 3D holographic universe platform called Hulight. Everyone on Homestar Echo 7 was alerted to the impending arrival of the legendary Time Star, known for its chaotic cosmic consequences, and also Dextra Kalamer, who was the mastermind of the catastrophic events that took place during the past summer. Dextra possessed the capacity to alter not just time but also the thoughts of anyone in her immediate vicinity, and Group 6 does not trust her. Group 6's Hulight training is full of unexpected twists and turns, and they have to face their deepest fears to defeat the impending threats that Dextra and Time Star pose.

Hulight Visions: Time Star by Eleanor Matera was filled with action, mystery, and intrigue. The plot masterfully conveys the spirit of childhood curiosity, friendship, and the need for adventure. The unexpected twists kept me on the edge of my seat, turning the pages as fast as I could. I was hooked from the start and could not put it down. There were some incredibly charming characters and realistic speech exchanges along the way, and the characters were real and approachable. The characters develop as a unit and provide numerous moral lessons about overcoming setbacks and remaining united. This was an incredible story about friendship, teamwork, and facing one's fears. It was well-written, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The story was much more than I expected.

As the academic term draws to a close, the members of Group Six are getting ready for yet another thrilling holiday spent practicing with the 3D holographic decks, also referred to as the Hulight decks. They are understandably shocked to learn that Dextra will once again be part of their experience. Connor, Arianna, and the gang remember all too well the series of events that highlighted their previous session with the Hulight decks and Dextra Kalamer's role in it that nearly killed one of them. Everyone prepares for any sign of trouble, or so they believe until the approach of the Time Star. This shows them just how unready they are for Dextra’s latest scheme in Hulight Visions: Time Star by Eleanor Matera.

Eleanor Matera's Hulight Visions series continues in Time Star where the previous installment left off. Even though the main characters are a little older and more experienced, they still regularly cause havoc, as evidenced by their antics in Mya's office. Their conversations are detailed and easy to follow as they investigate Dextra’s latest appearance on the satellite they call home. Once more, Matera provides a thorough explanation of the operation of the holographic decks so that viewers unfamiliar with this remarkable series can make the connections between previous occurrences and comprehend the mystery as it unfolds. Dextra reveals a side of herself that will appeal to some readers with her resolve to make a deck that evokes memories of the childhood she lost. Hulight Visions: Time Star has no obvious antagonist; each character has a valid reason for their actions, which I find most appealing. Matera deserves plaudits for creating a one-of-a-kind adventure story for young readers, which will appeal as well to older readers.
