I Say, You Say Feelings! by Tad Carpenter is a fun and educational book for young children. With every turn of the page, you are presented with more flaps to lift in order to enjoy even more colorful pages and illustrations. Not only is it filled with exquisite and playful pictures, but it also teaches children about feelings. If we’re happy, we smile; if we’re grumpy, we frown, and so on and so on. Part of the I Say, You Say series of books, this one engages kids and makes it possible for them to learn while playing, which is every parent’s or educator’s dream.
As soon as I received Tad Carpenter’s I Say, You Say Feelings!, I sat down and read it to my almost two-year-old daughter. She absolutely loved it. While we were reading along, enjoying the illustrations, and acting out each emotion, she was clearly learning. Throughout the day, after reading it a few times, I asked her what we do when we’re happy or sad, and she would smile or frown. It was amazing to see how quickly she learned. In addition to the educational benefits, she thoroughly enjoyed the many lift-the-flaps contained in this wonderful book. It is a fun way for children to interact while reading, which makes them want to continue reading. Personally, my favorite part was the illustrations. I was so impressed with each page that I found myself looking through them again on my own while my daughter was sleeping. The bright colors and lively images really catch your attention. I cannot say enough good things about this book. I could go on and on. Instead, I will let you see for yourself. Get this book! You won’t regret it, and your children will love you for it.
