In Susan Jean Ricci’s I See You in the Rain, readers are introduced to Gracie, a woman who has lived through years of loss and loneliness. She decides to take back her life, even if it’s just one small step at a time. That first step begins when a mysterious man named Wren and his loyal dog enter her world during a storm, changing everything. What starts as an unexpected friendship slowly grows into something deeper, awakening memories, fears, and hopes Gracie thought she’d buried long ago. She soon discovers that sometimes love has a funny way of turning up when you least expect it, but is she ready for it? Through moments of laughter, renewal, and quiet connection, Gracie must decide whether to open her heart to a new beginning or remain living in the shadow of the past.
Susan Jean Ricci’s I See You in the Rain: Single or Mingle Book Two is an emotional, inspirational story about rediscovery, love, and learning to trust again. As I was reading, one word kept coming to mind: hope. I hoped she wouldn't be lonely anymore. I hoped Wren would like her. I hoped that she’d choose love. I could go on. What touched me most was how real Gracie felt—her doubts, her quiet strength, and the way she kept trying even when life had broken her heart. This story reminded me that love doesn’t always come in grand gestures; sometimes it arrives softly, in the form of kindness, connection, or the courage to start again. The narrative flowed nicely and kept my interest throughout. It’s a beautiful reminder that even after pain, joy can return when we least expect it.
