I'm Having a Bad Day is the story of Jam, a boy who, on getting up in the morning, is confused about what day of the week it was. This triggered several events that caused him to have unhappy experiences at school. In addition to a little bad luck, everything else that happened to him seemed even worse. This could happen to anyone, but it is useful to know how to deal with setbacks and author Amaan Ishaq talks about the subject with empathy. At times, circumstances will be out of our control, but we should not allow that to affect ourselves or others. Better still, we should be grateful for the help we receive.
Small mistakes can occur from time to time. Those involved can be very hard on themselves, with children being particularly affected. They must be helped to understand that accidents happen when we least expect them and, as much as we want, we will not be able to control everything that happens to us daily. We should accept reality and not give up. With a positive attitude, children can find opportunities to improve their day and Amaan Ishaq teaches these lessons in this hort story. I liked I'm Having a Bad Day because this book encourages us to overcome unpleasant experiences.
