The Elite District is where the privileged live comfortably, with inexhaustible resources and wealth. Nate is a fully drawn, likeable hero, an ordinary researcher whose life quickly changes with a discovery, but he faces isolation and intrigue in a world that is unfamiliar to him. The writing is crisp and mostly descriptive, with minimal dialogue that balances social commentary and character exploration. The moral conflict is well-developed, and watching Nate struggle with ethical questions as he races to complete his experiments makes the story even more engaging.

Clark Templeton’s novel is narrated by Luke Welland, whose husky voice allows readers to feel the drama and note the pauses and changes in perspective. The audio recording is professional and clear. The narrator brings the characters and the setting to life, making me feel all their fears, hopes, and struggles.

Author Clark Templeton created a unique and plausible story that gave me chills. A virus that speeds up aging is such a clever and terrifying idea, and splitting the world into the Commons District and the Elite District gives it a really dystopian feel. Nate is such a relatable character. He's a brilliant scientist who stumbles into a world way bigger than himself, instead of being a flawless genius, which makes him so much easier to root for. The pace is perfect, the character development is good, and the overall feel of the story is great. Walls of Age is a novel that you should read or listen to at least once!

Luke Welland narrated the story with passion. He embodied Nate’s personality, and it reflected in every enunciation. I loved the way Welland ensured that readers were aware of Nate’s dilemma and felt it as well. I felt like I was listening to Nate speak and share his experiences firsthand, and that truly elevated my satisfaction.
