Instant Memory: How to Improve Memory Instantly! is another winner from the Instant-Series to quickly help one improve their life, this time through improving the memory. Just as if you lack focus, it is disrespectful and embarrassing if you are introduced to someone and immediately forget their name. It makes a less-than-stellar impression if you have to ask them again before the party is over. Or, when you go to the store, do you make a list, and then lose your list? There is a method for every situation and I learned a few from this book.
One that I have never heard of is the Mind Palace method. This involves imagining your house in your mind and the things you have to remember are placed in prominent but unusual places in this house in your mind. For example, if you have to get chicken legs, imagine several chicken legs running – disembodied – around your kitchen! The trick is to put a vivid memory in your mind that you can’t help but remember.
Instant Memory is a great book for students, business people, or even people who are very busy with their home and family life. There are methods to remember a list of things in order, which may come in handy when remembering where to pick up your children, or what meeting starts at what time. This will help me so much because often there are a few things I forget at the store if I don’t have the list with me. Instant-Series has a unique format for their books - easy to read, and easy to implement.
