Mounting tension, strange happenings, sightings, and secrets – It’s Been Waiting for You by Rod Karn has it all and more. Cassie Glenn, her husband Trevor and their two children arrive in a new town to spend their summer at 66 Bucknam Road. But there’s something about the house that makes Cassie uneasy even before she begins glimpsing things in the shadows and having vivid nightmares. A series of unexplained events and Trevor's increasingly strange behavior make Cassie wonder if there is something about the house that she needs to know to keep her family safe. After seeing an elderly woman hanging around the house, she receives an anonymous letter telling her to leave. Cassie decides to track the old woman down and ask some questions. What she discovers makes Cassie realize that time is running out for all of them.
Intriguing and suspenseful, It’s Been Waiting for You is well suited to fans of psychological thrillers. Rod Karn skillfully builds momentum throughout the story, moving readers toward a gripping conclusion. Unsettling in a visceral, skin-crawling way, It’s Been Waiting for You will disturb readers with its eerie setting and supernatural elements. I enjoyed the development of Trevor’s character from loving to slightly deranged as forces stronger than himself take hold of him – fans of The Shining by Stephen King may catch sight of Jack Torrance in Trevor. Compelling, powerful, irresistible, Rod Karn’s It’s Been Waiting for You is a book you must read if you’re looking for a plot that keeps you guessing and action that has you perched on the edge of your seat.
