Jasper Faulks and the Passage of Time is a stellar start to an action-packed sci-fi series guaranteed to entertain readers of the young adult genre. Author Milan Obradovic picks a promising premise and absolutely nails the execution. The narrative is well-paced, and the plot moves in unexpected ways that keep your eyes glued to the pages. Jasper is a likable protagonist, and it doesn't take much time for the reader to latch onto him. His relationship with his friends and family is the primary driving force that provides the narrative thrust. I particularly enjoyed his dynamic with Maya and Clarence. If you're a fan of movies like Jumper or The Maze Runner, check out Jasper Faulks and the Passage of Time.

Jasper Faulks and the Passage of Time by Milan Obradovic is the first book in a new young adult adventure series. Jasper is a seemingly normal teenager whose life gets turned upside down when his father goes missing. As Jasper finds clues to what happened to his father, he suddenly finds he’s being hunted by a mysterious killer with a strange ability called time bending. Then Jasper meets a girl named Maya with the same ability but, lucky for him, she’s on his side. The two of them manage to barely stay ahead of the killer as they search for Jasper’s dad, getting deeper and deeper into trouble with every milli-second.

The time bending ability that some of the characters have in Jasper Faulks and the Passage Time comes across as very powerful. If a Marvel superhero claimed to have this power, he or she would be one to be feared. The unique charm of this book is the way the author, Milan Obradovic, gave this power to ordinary adults and teenagers and then allows the reader to watch how it impacts them for the good and the bad. Jasper, Maya and another character named Eva are especially interesting as they grapple with the effects. Overall, these characters and several others are well-written, making it easy to become emotionally involved in their plight as the story progresses. The plot moves at a brisk pace, full of unexpected peril and lots of twists and turns. I highly recommend Jasper Faulks and the Passage of Time for a fun and exciting young adult adventure.
