Jungle of Midnight is the fourth book in the Dark Elf Romance series by Belinda Jane. Raina is not a woman to be trifled with. She is smart and dangerous; a combination that is hard to come by. Perhaps this is why she was given the mission to go in the thick of the Jungle of Midnight and aid the Borderlands. To help them, she needs to get life crystals, but she cannot go there alone. She needs the help of Ramus, a dark elf who only wants his next drink and nothing else. Ramus is everything she doesn’t like, but suddenly she craves everything he is. The deeper they go into the jungle, the more they realize they have to rely on each other. They have to set aside their differences and find a way to work together to get out of this alive. Can they do it?
Belinda Jane has done a wonderful job of creating a very concrete concept and giving us characters that we can relate to. The plot is intense, action-packed and very interesting. The mystery behind the jungle and the monsters living in it was really well executed. I enjoyed the descriptions and the imagery the most; this gave so much insight into the universe Ramus and Raina inhabited. I thoroughly enjoyed how Raina and Ramus danced around each other before they gave in to their feelings. The dialogues were fun; I loved how sassy Ramus was and how he tried really hard in getting on Raina’s nerves. I really enjoyed Jungle of Midnight!
