Get ready for thrills, chills, and vampire romance with Josie Jaffrey's Kill Me Quick. This dark fantasy thriller follows Kulika Yadav, an immortal Silver vampire, who, after leaving pirate Bartholomew Roberts's crew centuries ago, put herself in the service of Killian Drake, the Baron of Oxford. However, Drake is dying, and the only way to save him is to find Dr. Jahan Khalyed's last known blood relative, Evita Khalyed. And Bartholomew, her former mentor, is the only one who knows Evita's whereabouts. Kulika reluctantly visits Bartholomew's mansion in South Carolina, only to find herself entangled in his nefarious schemes. Meanwhile, Patience Quick, a young human woman searching for her missing best friend, finds herself held captive in the mansion's cellars. Can Kulika save Patience?

Author Josie Jaffrey intertwines mystery, romance, and supernatural elements to deliver an engrossing tale that readers of vampire fantasy romance will devour with relish. Part Southern Gothic dark fantasy and part supernatural thriller, Kill Me Quick is an absorbing first book in what promises to be a gripping vampire saga. Jaffrey wastes no time putting the reader into the midst of the action. The plot is fast-paced, featuring shocking reveals that keep their eyes glued to the pages. The author masterfully weaves a narrative laced with tension and suspense, making the reader feel the stakes as the two main characters face their own unique challenges. The chemistry between Kulika and Patience is palpable, with their distinct personalities adding much drama and intrigue to the narrative. I also found Bartholomew to be a formidable antagonist. I am very eager to read the sequel and highly recommend this book.
