Author Biography

I believe every child should see themselves in a book, so I created a children's book series called 'Super Youneek Beast' for that exact reason. Growing up in a tiny southern town, I was considered to be the "different" kid. With characteristics like being plus-sized, covered in freckles, bright red hair, expressive, and artistic - it was easy to stand out in a crowd. Sometimes that idea is not always embraced in our society and it can be hard to be different. As a child, I never had a story, cartoon, toy, or character that looked or felt like me. That's why I decided to make one now. Lacinda the Lion IS ME. She is a mirror of who I was and will always be. It took me a while to figure out that my uniqueness is wonderful and I only wish to help children discover that magical truth far sooner than I did. My goal with this book is to encourage children to celebrate what makes us ALL unique.
