Launch Out Into The Deep is a spiritually touching book of devotions written by Author, Acacia Slaton Beumer. Beumer writes from her own life experience and has included inspirational essays, divine poems and quotes from the holy scripture in this book that truly touches the soul. Beumer's brother, Aaron Slaton, has delicately written the uplifting poems in this book with character and class. The cover of the book grabs the reader's attention. The girl with the ripped shirt looks as if she is tormented, but the hand of God reaching down is a powerful image. This makes the reader want to pick up the book to see what it is about. Each essay is short and to the point, and each relaying a lesson in life that we can all relate to. The plot is well thought out, each chapter flows nicely to the next and the wording is very easy to comprehend. The issues written about are common ones that affect the world today and she offer's her spiritual guidance to those who need it and will embrace it. Beumer explains that life is a constant battle of temptations whether it is money, drugs, crime, sex or even peer pressure. Those temptations feed on themselves and can drag the victim down to destruction. But Beumer is also there to remind us how great the power of God is and how having Faith can turn our lives around.

I loved how Acacia Slaton Beumer added so many elements into one book. Her words of wisdom, poems and quotes all blended together nicely to create a true masterpiece that is different from anything I have ever read before. We all choose our path in life and we need to be careful that we make the right choices and Beumer reiterates this message through and through. This book would be perfect for teens who think they know everything and what is right for them. They will be able to relate to the issues presented and will come away with a powerful lesson in faith and spiritual guidance. I felt very connected and inspired by reading this wonderful book that made me question my own relationship with God. Let's face it, the Bible is very hard to read, let alone to understand each message that God intends for us, but I found this book to have some of those answers written in simple terms that I could easily comprehend. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is seeking spiritual guidance, anyone who is searching for spiritual inspiration, or anyone who just loves beautifully written poetry. It has something for everyone, no matter what age you are, you will be certain to bring away the message of hope, forgiveness and peace in your life.

Acacia Slaton writes this book to help readers deal with everyday life issues. She uses personal experiences and tells about experiences of people in the Bible to help teach us easier ways to make it through life’s journey without making the mistakes others made. The lessons are simple yet detailed, using a lot of Scripture to reinforce what she is teaching. Her teaching is direct, heartwarming and touching.

There are so many things that make this the wonderful book it is. The author has a unique way of communication and bonding with people. I think about the young seventeen year old that was tragically killed in an accident. Mike and Acacia met briefly, Acacia was able to talk to him, making sure he knew the Lord and was ready to die, if that time came for him. He only lived a short while after that meeting. What a blessing Acacia was able to communicate with him. And there are so many more real experiences that the author writes about in this book, making it more personal and making what she is teaching more understandable.

Each chapter is written from the heart of the author, and each is filled with Scripture from the Bible to confirm what she is saying. There are also beautiful poems throughout the book, as well as discussion questions for a study group to answer after each chapter. This would make a wonderful study for a small group or Sunday school class.

I highly recommend this book for everyone to read. The author covers a lot of the Bible in this one book. She is straightforward on what she has to say about sin in one’s life and she presents God’s plan of salvation in a simple, understanding way. I really enjoyed her view of the scriptures and I plan to keep a copy for my own personal use.

Launch out into the deep is a great book filled with inspiration and biblical insight. It is a devotional book with exhortations, stories, poem and scriptural discussions that are all scriptural sound. The discussion questions helped to solidify each concept once they were explored.

The exhortations were very encouraging and very often hit home. The language is every easy to understand and because of that, this book is suitable for everyone, including new Christians and younger persons.

I especially liked the fact that the book explored several areas of life and the situations with which we are faced. The personal experiences of the author, offer a wealth of information that any individual can draw from and the poetry added a special touch.

I would recommend this book for any Christian who is struggling with personal issues or who just needs a bit of encouragement from time to time. Excerpts from this book can easily be added to one’s devotional time. I also recommend it to new Christians. The explanations and stories bring out biblical concepts with amazing clarity. The discussion questions help you not just to learn, but to understand and to apply them to your life. This is a book I will definitely go through again. I would even recommend it for teens as there are issues handled that most teens go through on a daily basis. Topics such as Singleness, God’s plan for your life, sex, redemption and salvation all make this book a real treasure trove.

Acacia Slaton Beumer and her brother Aaron Slaton have composed "Launch out into the Deep" which, chapter by chapter, guides the reader into putting their life and its path in God's hands. Although these writings are strongly Christian, the words speak to teenagers and younger adults who are faced with a world where sex, drugs, perfect body image and "do your own thing" are advocated.Using stories such as Ruth and mother-in-law Naomi from the Old Testament of the Bible, the authors urge the reader to wait for God's blessing and guidance and not miss out because of impatience or indifference to faith. Acacia includes discussions at the conclusion of each chapter upon which the reader should ponder.
The reader is reassured that behind every trial in life there is a lesson to be learned. The authors lead the reader through different scenarios of the many trials that people face.

"Launch into the Deep" is thought-provoking but its strong Christian core may turn away the non-believer or non-Christian who faithfully practices his own religious beliefs. The title supports the book's basic theme of the individual learning to trust God no matter what his or her circumstances. Pen and ink illustrations add to the book but more of them would be an overall asset. A large font and narrower margins might add some shelf appeal although the chapters are short and interspersed with Aaron's well-composed poetry and the ending questions. An excellent bibliography at the book's conclusion points to the authors' credibility. "Launch into the Deep" with its emphasis on today's culture belongs in church libraries everywhere and more than that, in the hands of the reader who is faced with a myriad of personal dilemmas and is seeking answers.

Launch Out Into The Deep by Acacia Slaton Beumer has a message for teens and adults alike. Between the pages of this book the reader will find great perception and divine discernment. The author uses her own experiences to reach out to others. Beumer begins her book by stressing the fact that we all face struggles in it is part of life. People say cruel things even those that call themselves Christian. We need to learn to not let these struggles influence us. Learning to turn our struggles over to the Lord is part of maturing.

MS Beumer uses a wide variety of formats in this book: poetry, art work, questions, quotes and narrative essays. I think it works well. Different formats reach different readers. Each section of the book is brief, making them easy to use as devotions. I found it very easy to see myself in several of the essays. I like the discussion questions most of all. It gave me the opportunity to question myself. I admire the author for sharing her beliefs and faith. Not enough people are willing to do that today. Beumer is obviously a talented writer. She knows how to express her feelings. No topic is off limits to Beumer. She expresses her opinions on a various topics including promiscuity, addictions, money, humility, and deceit. She uses scripture to back up her point of view. This book is well organized and has an intelligent tone. Beumer encourages readers to grow a deeper faith.
