Saying that we work relentlessly should serve as a warning sign, not a source of pride. Although seeking to be in control is not a negative, we must learn to choose our battles. In Life But Make It Manageable, Tia Warrick teaches us to make decisions with clarity. Instead of relying on a perfect agenda, she emphasizes the importance of being aware of what deserves our energy in each moment. She describes how her pursuit of larger goals led to burnout, transforming tasks that once took hours into ones that took days. Her desire to keep going pushed her to the limit, and now she warns us not to make the same mistake. The author encourages us to be honest with our goals and set realistic objectives. She reminds us that a little chaos is necessary because the best experiences happen outside our comfort zone.
I loved that Tia Warrick spoke from her experiences. I found her perspective honest and natural, with clear explanations and practical advice. The chapters are short, entertaining, and easy to read because they focus on the essentials of each topic engagingly. Of all her ideas, the one I liked the most was setting boundaries and learning how to say no. Although it may be difficult to refuse requests, whether at work or with friends, doing so allows us to rest. By making this decision, we understand that we don't need to sacrifice ourselves to be valued. She also shares anecdotes about topics that affect our lives, such as family, work, friendship, and money. Life But Make It Manageable shows us that detachment is not indifference; it is recognizing that our time and decisions are limited resources.
