His journey for survival takes readers on an invigorating Conan the barbarian style quest as he maneuvers his way in a strange, treacherous, and unfamiliar world. Thankfully, the tribe is patient with the pale visitor with powerful magic. C. Buck Jones does a stellar job of portraying the natives' way of life. The reader gets a vivid understanding of the multi-faceted cultures in this unique world from their tools to hunting techniques, community dynamics, and general lifestyle. Jones skillfully combines poignant moments with danger, making this novel a page-turner from start to finish. This book will appeal to readers who enjoy adventure-packed survival stories.
