The Story of Atom by Robert Reisler is a fascinating, educational book for kids. Meet Adam, the Carbon-12 Atom, and go on a journey with him that starts right from when the universe first began and ends today. He came from a dying star, and his journey through the ages, across billions of years, will open your eyes as you learn what atoms are made from and why Adam is a Carbon-12. You’ll learn fantastic facts about the planets, and how Adam became part of a living, breathing dinosaur – the Tyrannosaurus Rex. All that, and much more, can be found in this amazing book.

The Story of Atom by Robert Reisler is one of the coolest books I’ve ever read, and it taught me far more than I ever learned in school. It’s a mixture of sciences, including chemistry, astrology, and physics, written in an engaging way, designed to help make it easier to understand and, just as importantly, retain the information. It’s a fun story with amazingly colorful illustrations, and packed with facts and wonderful stories that help explain those facts much better than any school textbook ever did. The periodic table at the start is a useful addition, and kids (and probably a lot of adults, too) can learn so much from this. It’s an inspiring book, one that kids can keep forever, passing it down to their children, and so on through the generations. This is what kids should be learning from in schools today; I’m pretty sure they’d learn so much more, because it is such an inspiring book.

Robert Reisler's The Story of Atom explains the account of the Big Bang, which created the universe. Adam, an atom, is the story's main narrator, and he begins by commenting on how the Universe began to expand. As matter began to clash, stars formed, basic elements developed, and planets entered the picture! Have you heard about Saturn, Neptune, or Mars? Then things began to get exciting on our lovely planet as life arose. You'll have to pick up this book to find out the rest of the story. In this one-of-a-kind picture book, Adam tells a fascinating story that you should not miss.

The Story of Atom takes the young reader on a fascinating journey to discover how the Big Bang created the universe we know today. I enjoyed the concept of this book and the humorous but also delightful way such a difficult subject is handled. Robert Reisler has done an excellent job of clarifying complex subjects while keeping the reader engaged throughout. I loved the book's interactive moments since these provide an excellent method to engage youngsters while also stimulating their thinking. The illustrations by Sarah Mamdouh and Kate Henriott-Jauw also help the reader understand the topic. A nice touch is that real professors and physicists were involved in creating this book. I can't think of a better way to spark scientific curiosity in children. I believe this is an excellent gift for any curious child or anyone interested in learning about the universe.

Can you imagine being around for ten billion years? Or even more? Atom has been around for at least that and perhaps more. In Robert Reisler’s The Story of Atom, young readers will follow the exciting journey of a Carbon Atom named Adam. It’s all part of the Big Bang Theory, and began billions of years ago when Adam was spawned from a star. Adam’s life follows the life of the universe from its very beginnings. It’s pretty exciting stuff, and Adam’s trek will introduce young readers to many sciences, including astronomy, physics, chemistry, and biology.

Robert Reisler’s picture book, The Story of Atom, is an exciting adventure in science. Told in simple language to aid young readers with their reading skills, this story follows the journey of a single atom from its very beginnings. It’s written in the first-person narrative, allowing Adam the Atom to tell his story from the beginning. This gives the story a very personal, realistic approach that will draw in the young reader. The illustrations by Sarah Mamdouh are bright, bold, and colorful, adding another dimension to the events. Readers will learn about the burst of energy that created the universe and everything in it. They will also learn about the basics of chemistry (as well as the other sciences), particularly some of the molecular structures and the current Periodic Table, which is always changing as more elements are discovered and added. This is an interesting and engaging way to teach readers of all ages about one of the most important elements on the Periodic Table – the atom.

The Story of Atom by Robert Reisler is an imaginative, playful, and gently educational children’s book beautifully illustrated by Sarah Mamdouh and the author. This inventive and lovely story charts the extraordinary journey of a carbon atom, affectionately named Adam, from the universe's birth to the present day. It offers a sweeping, accessible introduction to cosmology, chemistry, and natural history, three not so easy to teach topics. Structured as a first-person memoir, the story begins with the Big Bang, where Adam, though not yet formed, describes the singularity and the explosive origins of space and matter. Adam tells us about the formation of stars, fusion processes, the birth of elements, and his own dramatic creation within a dying star, eventually becoming part of Earth, a fearsome dinosaur, crude oil, and, amusingly, a cheeseburger.

The Story of Atom by Robert Reisler is a lively and colloquial story that mixes scientific terminology with playful metaphors and cultural references likely to appeal to both children and their adult readers (teachers and parents alike). While the story’s primary audience is young readers, it has a broad intergenerational charm and will delight readers with a curiosity for science and storytelling, as it delighted me. The author’s witty, personable voice addresses young readers directly. What I love is that it also anticipates their questions with humorous asides. I thoroughly enjoyed how Adam tells us about the formation of stars, fusion processes, the birth of elements, and his own dramatic creation. A book to treasure and read for fun, entertainment, and knowledge.
