On their wedding semi-anniversary, Adam Ashwood shares great news with his wife Lily. Lily is content with her modest and comfortable lifestyle. She loves change and is excited that their hard work on improving their lives has finally started to pay off. Sarah and Josh seem like a happy and beautiful couple to the outside world, but they fight a lot, mainly due to Sarah's mother. Both Sarah and her mother love money and expensive things. Sometimes, Lily wonders how she remained friends with someone like Sarah, who is fundamentally different from her in their tastes and lifestyle preferences. She believes Sarah was brainwashed by her greedy mother to maintain an impeccable image. However, Josh and Lily soon learn who Sarah truly is and what she's capable of. Read Lily by Rebecca Seymour to learn more about Lily's story.
I did not expect this book to be so intriguing, amazing, and useful. Lily by Rebecca Seymour is wonderfully written, with a rich atmosphere, suspense, and psychological complexity. It's a compelling read, mainly due to the author's in-depth knowledge of control and emotional abuse, red flags in friendships, unconditional trust, love and loyalty, empathy traps, and fairness. This story reminds readers that empathy is a gift and must not be wasted on unworthy people. It shows how the wrong people you let into your life can wreck your dreams and make you waste your empathy, compassion, warmth, love, and forgiveness on them. It's about identity, motives, aspirations, loss, facing a moral dilemma, and knowing people's true essence and what they're capable of. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys psychological suspense thrillers.
